Italian filmfest selects Iranian jury

The 74th edition of Venice International Film Fastival has selected Iranian director Rakhshan Bani-Etemad as the jury of the Horizons section.

Bani-Etemad was designated as a member of the jury panel in the International Film Fastival., in the "horizon" section of the event.

Born in 1954, Bani-Etemad is a director, script writer and producer, holding an academic degree in Filmmaking and Dramatic Arts from Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Tehran.

She has brought home countless prestigious awards from domestic and international film festivals.

Venice International Film Festival was founded in 1932. It is the oldest film festival in the world.

The 74th Venice International Film Festival is scheduled to be held from 30 August to 9 September 2017.
